Kip Pascal or Keith Pascal?

Inquiring minds want to know; are you Keith or Kip?

Thanks for asking -- it's a good question.

My given name is "Keith." That's what the folks named me.

They didn't know at the time, that everyone would pick up on my initials, which are K.I.P. So, for the first seven years of my life, I was "Kippy."

In 1967-1968, we lived in Italy. "Kippy" sounded too feminine to some of my classmates, so I decided to go back to "Keith." Unfortunately, my classmates couldn't pronounce the "th" dipthong, so they spat on me by mistake.

And thus "Kip" was born.

In the world of martial arts, as an author, I have used my given name -- I am Keith Pascal.

But "Kip" has stuck. My family and friends all call my Kip. People around Eugene know me as Kip. And the world of magic knows me as Kip.

And there you have it -- call me "Keith" or call me "Kip." Just don't call me ... uh ... "Fred." Not that Fred is a bad name -- it's just not my name.
